Prior to the official commencement of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), HP has unveiled new Chromebook laptops and the next-gen Chromebox. Here is a look at the devices:
Chromebook 14 G5: The new Chromebook by HP is a sleek laptop coming with a 14-inch IPS display with a HD and full HD resolution options, and is powered by Intel Celeron N3450 processor along with Intel HD Graphics 500. The laptop comes equipped with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16GB to 64GB eMMC storage. Running Chrome OS, the Chromebook 14 G5 comes with dual speakers, and several connectivity options such as 2 USB 3.1 Type-C, 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1, and 1 headphone/microphone combo. Additionally, the device is accompanied by a 720p HD camera and up to 10 hours of battery life.
Chromebook 11 G6 EE: Another new addition is the Chromebook 11 G6 EE specifically meant for students. It comes with an 11.6-inch HD IPS display (touch screen optional) and comes with two processor options: Intel Celeron N3450 and Intel Celeron N3350. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 16GB to 64GB eMMC storage. The laptop comes with a 720p webcam and runs Chrome OS.
ChromeBox G2: The successor to the Chromebox launched in 2014, the Chromebox G2 is similar to the Apple TV. It runs Chrome OS and can be connected to a keyboard, a mouse, or a monitor. It comes with up to 16GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32 - 64GB m.2 SSD storage. The device comes with three processor variants: Intel Core i5-7300U, Core i7-8650U, and Celeron 3865U, and has several connectivity options such as 1 USB 3.1 Type-C, 3 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, microSD slot, HDMI, Ethernet, and headphone/microphone combo jack.
However, there is no word on the pricing and availability details of the aforementioned devices.
