CES 2018:Harmon Kardon introduces Alexa coupled portable Allure at $199

Harmon Kardon has launched the Allure Portable speaker coupled with AI assistant Amazon Alexa, which will carry a price tag of $199 (approximately Rs. 12,600) and would be available in spring this year. The predecessor Allure was earlier launched in India last month at a price of Rs 22,490 and was unveiled at the German trade show IFA.

This Alexa coupled portable Allure sports two 20W full-range drivers, which appears in 1.75-inch size and two passive radiators. Harmon stated that given setup is sufficient to fill any space, no matter it is your living room, office, or kitchen. Moreover, the speaker is furnished with a semi-transparent top cover a steel speaker grille.

Andy Tsui, Vice President, Smart Audio Business Unit, Harman, in a press statement, said, “with the Harman Kardon Allure Portable, we brought together everything our customers love about the Harman Kardon Allure-amazing sound quality, Amazon Alexa voice capabilities, beautiful design - and added portability.”

The USP of the speaker is that it can stream music/audio directly from the cloud to play songs from a mobile device through Bluetooth as it can support upto 96kHz/24 bits of Wi-Fi. Harmon’s own inbuilt far-field voice recognition feature is added in the product that works with the two embedded microphones and an sophisticated noise cancellation technology.
