Facebook to revamp its news feed soon

The changes on news feed will enable users to view more posts from friends and families rather than unnecessary contents

Facebook pillar Mark Zuckerberg stated that the social networking firm is revamping the news feed section in order to give more importance to posts from acquaintances and family rather than prioritizing feeds from publishers and brands. It implies that users might witness a different feed than the existing one.

The current 2 billion Facebook users will now finally view lesser unnecessary posts, viral videos, news articles, and other contents. Rather, they will witness more posts from and updates from their close associates, family, and friends.  Facebook claims that this is the biggest alterations ever made in the news feed in years.

Zuckerberg said on his Facebook page, “We feel a responsibility to make sure our services aren't just fun to use, but also good for people's well-being. Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook page. "I'm changing the goal I give our product teams from focusing on helping you find relevant content to helping you have more meaningful social interactions.”

"By making these changes, I expect the time people spend on Facebook and some measures of engagement will go down. But I also expect the time you do spend on Facebook will be more valuable," he wrote. "And if we do the right thing, I believe that will be good for our community and our business over the long term too."
