Will this new revised plan of Airtel act as a ‘Balckgate’ to Jio’s 799-tariff scheme?
This New Year, India’s largest telecom operator Airtel has again unleashed a revised plan that appears at a pack of Rs 799. The revised 799 tariff would offer unlimited local and STD calls along with 3.5GB of 4G or 3G data per day.
Under this plan, users would also get 100 national and local SMSs every day and the entire plan appears at a validity of 28 days. This revised Airtel pack might throw a tough competition to its rival Jio’s 799 tariffs.
Jio also offers unlimited local and STD calls with a 28 days validity. The Jio recharge plan is 3GBs and upon consumption of this limit, the network speed reduces to 64Kbps, while, the high-speed maximum data available at this tariif is 84GBs. In the beginning, the Jio plan was only meant for the iPhone users, but then moving ahead the scheme is now available for every users. Jio users will get 2GB of 4G data every day, along with unlimited voice calls and SMSes and access to all Jio apps, a total of 84GB data for 28 days.
Airtel has launched this plan last year that offered unlimited local and STD calls, 3GB data per day along with 100 SMSes every day. The only alteration to this plane was the introduction of 98GB of 3G/4G data for 28 days.
Airtel proclaims that the revised plan would offer “unlimited” calls, but the fact is that there is a restriction of 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. Airtel users will get an additional cashback of Rs 75 if they recharge their numbers through Airtel payment bank.
