Google Duo achieves the benchmark of 100 million downloads

Google’s new survey report says that its mobile video calling app, Google Duo, has recently crossed 100 million download on its platform, the Google Play Store. At its annual Google I/O 2016 conference, the search engine firm has unveiled the video calling app and commercially launched it on August 2016 on both iOS and Android devices.

Prior to its first anniversary, the app has already achieved the target of 100 million downloads on its Play Store dais. It recorded 50 million downloads few months earlier, whereas it managed to garner 5 million downloads on every first week of its launch. Its immense recognition among the youths helped it cross the benchmark.

The video calling app provides basic yet effective user interface that helps users stay connected through video calls in high definition even with low-bandwidth networks. It allows users to call anyone from their contact list with end-to-end encryption.

As of now, the search engine firm is focusing on the innovation of both Duo and Allo to make it more efficient among each other. It is also speculated that users can witness more innovative features on both the apps in the upcoming months.
