Honor wants to make its budget smartphone “Killer or king in the sector”

Honor is now gearing up to launch state-of-the-art budget phones in India, which is more in demand states George Zhao, Global President, Honor. The move came after the successful launch of premium smartphone Honor 7X in India. The upcoming Honor phones will be in a price range within Rs 10,000.

Zhao said to IANS, “In three years, we want to be number one in India. We will launch more budget phones or sub-Rs. 10,000 phones in India next year. We want to launch competitive and unbeatable product in India.”

Within this price range, the company hinted of launching Honor Bee, which was unveiled in India earlier this year. According to Zhao the product should be the “killer or king in the sector." He also revealed that both Honor 7X and the upcoming Honor View 10 will be manufactured in the nation. A company spokesperson said, “The device will be priced attractively for the Indian market. India is our special market. Online market in India is a very, very important churner.”

They added, “Indian has more than 40 percent online penetration and we are focused more on the consumers and not only on channels.”
