Now spot yourself in pictures on Facebook using facial recognition

Don’t know which pictures feature you? Facebook has a solution!

Social media site Facebook has added a new feature which allows you to identify yourself in a particular photo with the help of facial recognition.

Using the same tech as being used since 2010, Facebook will send you notifications when the app detects you in an image, irrespective of you being tagged in the image or not. This can be done by enabling the facial recognition option under the account settings option. Additionally, on receiving the notification, you can decide whether or not you want to tag or untag yourself, and won’t get notified if your settings are not 'custom audience'. Furthermore, the new feature has been rolled out for the visually disabled.

Facebook will soon notify you (using facial recognition) when any user on the platform uploads your picture as his or her own to avoid any imposter.

For those who don’t know, facial recognition tech on Facebook analyses of pixels in a picture, followed by generation of numbers called template, and comparison of the photos uploaded with the template is the last step in the process.

The new feature has started rolling out, except for Canada and EU.

To recall, Facebook recently introduced the Snooze feature which will let you unfollow any page, person group for 30 days. The Snooze option is present at the top right corner of a post.
