A video of a frustrated Ola Electric customer destroying his scooter with a hammer outside one of the company’s showrooms has gone viral, drawing attention to customer grievances with the electric vehicle brand.

The incident reportedly stemmed from a ₹90,000 repair bill issued by the service centre just one month after the customer had purchased the scooter.

In the video, the man dressed in a white T-shirt and blue jeans is seen repeatedly smashing the scooter lying on the ground.

His frustration is palpable as others join him, taking turns to further damage the vehicle.

In frustration, he smashed his scooter in front of the showroom].”

The post went viral on multiple social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Facebook.

This incident follows recent criticism of Ola Electric by comedian Kunal Kamra, who called out the company and its CEO Bhavish Aggarwal for poor after-sales support.

Kamra shared a photo of several scooters parked at an Ola service centre, questioning how Indian consumers, especially daily wage workers dependent on two-wheelers, are being treated.

He asked, “Do Indian consumers have a voice? Do they deserve this?”
