Apple has started assembling the iPhone 16e in India marking another step in its growing manufacturing presence in the country. According to a report by the Economic Times, Apple confirmed that the iPhone 16e units made in India will be sold both locally and exported to other markets.

Apple’s Expanding Production in India

The report also notes that the entire iPhone 16 series is now being assembled in India. Apple has been steadily increasing its manufacturing footprint in the country and according to Nikkei Asia, the share of iPhones made in India is expected to grow from 15% currently to 25% by 2027.

Apple is also expanding beyond iPhones back in December, reports suggested that AirPods production in India would begin later this year.
