Apple Returns as Sole Winner of American Satisfaction Index

The American Customer Satisfaction Index annual report last year was a surprise to everyone. For the first time in two decades, Apple was dethroned from its sole winner position in the Index for personal computers.

Samsung forced a tie and made room for itself in the top position. While it was a moment of rejoicing for the South Korean company, looks like it didn’t last for long.

Apple has made a smashing return as the sole category winner in the 2024 ACSI annual report.

HP won the second position and as for Samsung, it has been knocked down to third.

ACSI published its annual report this week based on 13,000+ respondents (chosen at random) from July 2023 to June 2024.

The personal computer category includes computers, desktops, laptops, and tablets.

Respondents also rated personal computer features.

Apple Tops Customer Satisfaction Index

In the 2024 report, Apple’s Mac and iPad experience scored 85/100.

This is at least four points more than the average score of 81 in the personal computer category.

On the other hand, Samsung’s score dropped to 82/100, which is a point down from last year’s score of 83/100.

Meanwhile, HP managed to take the leap to reach the second spot this year. It scored 84/100 and was just behind Apple. HP has been performing rather well for some time now, registering a 3-point increase YoY.

For the fourth and fifth spots, Amazon and Dell found their place respectively.

The report also ranked product categories. The desktops, although had lower scores than last, managed to snatch the top spot with 82/100.  It outperformed both compact computing products, laptops and tablets.

As for the YoY trends, it was a 2-point drop for desktops, a 1-point increase for laptops, and a 5-point increase for tablets.
