Apple Not Paying OpenAI for ChatGPT

Apparently, Apple will not be paying OpenAI as of this partnership.

That’s because the giant equally values or feels that exposure for OpenAI’s brand and technology in getting integrated into Apple’s platforms reaching hundreds of millions of devices, rather than in monetary payments.

It would integrate ChatGPT, an online assistant answering information queries in clear and simple sentences, into question-answering digital assistant Siri and Apple’s new essay writing and composition tools to make the experience more human-like and organic.

Although the current agreement does not lead to any meaningful revenue generation for any party, in the future this may remain unchanged, but Apple also might eventually begin to secure revenue-sharing agreements with AI companies.

With significant updates to Apple’s popular apps come the fall; finally, there will be additions to the native Mail application, with auto-categorization features to messages in your inboxes due to reach devices later in the year.

It’s important to note that Apple Intelligence, the company’s flagship AI feature, will be labelled as a beta release upon its initial launch with iOS 18 and other platforms.

This means users should expect issues and inconsistencies, which will be addressed in subsequent updates over the following weeks and months.
