The system also achieves peak brightness above 4000 cd/m², setting a new benchmark for Sony displays. Wide Dynamic Range and Smooth Gradation Processing at 96 bits with high speed and precision, the system delivers deep blacks, bright whites, and seamless mid-tones. It also improves on OLED’s limitations by rendering moderately bright, saturated colors more accurately. Additionally, the display maintains wide viewing angles with minimal color shift or brightness loss. Accurate Colour Reproduction A dedicated control processor ensures that densely packed RGB LEDs function efficiently, preventing white clipping in bright areas and black crushing in dark ones. With twice the processing power of traditional local dimming technology, the system captures subtle color variations more accurately than ever before. Sony’s Industry Collaborations and New Display Tech’s Availability To bring this display to market, Sony is collaborating with key partners including MediaTek Inc. known for its Pentonic SoCs in smart TVs on control processors, ROHM Co., Ltd. on LED drive ICs and Sanan Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. on LED development.
