Samsung’s next big release is just around the corner and every day there is a new update of the upcoming lineup. It has been almost confirmed that the Korean company will be launching the Samsung Galaxy S25 series in the second half of January. However, what most reports haven’t been able to confirm yet is when the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be launched.

This new update is not about the launch timeline though.

It appears Samsung is taking screen durability and visibility to the next level with its upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra. Following the success of the Galaxy S24 Ultra introduced Corning’s Gorilla Glass Armor with an anti-reflective coating, we are now getting reports that the upcoming S25 Ultra will debut with second-generation Gorilla Glass Armor.

According to a recent leak from Ice Universe on X (formerly Twitter), the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumoured to launch on January 22 and will exclusively feature this upgraded glass.

Like its predecessor, the new version will retain anti-reflective properties, which made the S24 Ultra’s screen the least reflective in smartphone history. This improvement significantly enhances usability, especially in bright environments.

While the leak doesn’t specify the exact enhancements, it’s reasonable to expect even better anti-reflective performance and increased durability. These upgrades will continue to set Samsung’s flagship apart as a leader in display technology.

If you’ve ever used the Galaxy S24 Ultra, you’ll know how noticeable the difference is. Place it next to any other phone and the reduced reflections are immediately apparent.

This not only helps users with light-sensitive eyes but also makes the screen appear brighter without increasing the display’s nits. The screen doesn’t have to fight reflections by reducing glare to maintain brightness and create a more comfortable viewing experience.
