Google Pixel 6a likely to be launched under Rs 40,000 segment

Google is reportedly planning to launch its upcoming Pixel 6a smartphone in India by the end of this month. The device, to be launched as the successor of Pixel 5a, is expected to be priced under the Rs40000 price point. The soon-to-be-launched handset is expected to be available for sale via Flipkart.

Google introduced its Pixel 6a smartphone during its Google I/O event, which was held in the first of May 2022. With a design similar to the Pixel 6 series, the upcoming smartphone gets energy from Google’s own Tensor chipset.

Pixel 6a price in India tipped

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Pixel 6a will cost at around Rs 37,000 in India. Earlier, another report claimed that the device would be launched under Rs 40,000 price point. However, Google is yet to confirm the launch date of the Pixel 6a.

Talking about the global pricing of the Pixel 6a, the device carries a price tag of CAD 599 in Canada. The device is available at 459 for the single 6GB variant in the UK. The Pixel 6a can be bought at EUR 459 in Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.

The upcoming Google Pixel 6a is expected to be launched in Charcoal variant in Singapore and Ireland, while all other regions will also get Sage and Chalk options.

Pixel 6a specifications

Design-wise, the upcoming Pixel 6a shares similarities with its predecessor. The Pixel 6a is being defined as the trimmed down version of Pixel 6. Colour and camera bar is also almost similar to Pixel 6, offered in three colour options, including Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage.

The Pixel comes with dual rear cameras: a main lens and an ultrawide lens.

Earlier, leaks claimed that the upcoming Google Pixel 6a may come up with an 8MP selfie camera and 5000mAh battery.

Also, it was claimed that Google Pixel 6a may come with Android 12, and may feature a 12-megapixel secondary camera sensor.

It is believed that the upcoming Google Pixel 6a can give competition to the newly launched iPhone SE. The iPhone is powered by an A15 Bionic processor with a dated design, which is where the Pixel may take a lead. The launch of Pixel 6a may take place on July 28, as Google Pixel Buds Pro is scheduled to be launched on the same day.
