Google Pixel 8 series is expected to launch later this year.
The company might launch its new premium flagship smartphones in the second half of 2023.
Of late, Google has been showcasing its next-generation flagship phones at the Google I/O every year.
This year, the company could follow the trend and tease the Pixel 8 series.
However, readers do not have to wait for so long to get an idea about the Pixel 8. We have collaborated with tipster OnLeaks, who has a reputation for accurate smartphone leaks, for the Pixel 8 design renders.
The leaked design renders show that the Google Pixel 8 will get some design renders over the outgoing Pixel 7 5G, which is available for purchase in India.
The design changes, although subtle, are quite noticeable compared to the Pixel 7 series.
The first set of leaks for the upcoming Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are out.
A new report has revealed several renders of what is supposedly the flagship Pixel 8 Pro from Google, while another one from sources has gotten its hands on the Pixel 8’s renders.
These new renders give us a high-resolution view of what we should expect from Google’s hardware updates in 2023.
As per a report by Smartprix in collaboration with Onleaks, leaked renders of the Pixel 8 Pro are out.
These include a total of four design images, covering the front and back of the smartphone in its entirety, and a 360-degree animated view to top it all off.
Let’s take a look at the Google Pixel 8 design renders, specifications and other details known so far.
Pixel 8 Pro
Starting off with the first thing that comes to mind when you see the renders are the rounded or curved corners.
This is a redesign when compared to the sharp corners on the predecessor.
Further, we also see a slight change in the camera module.
The three camera sensors have now been combined into the same oval-looking cutout.
Additionally, there seems to be another sensor below the camera flash, functionality for which is yet unknown.
On the bottom, you see the usual USB Type-C port and speaker grille. And the top of the smartphone has nothing of interest.
On the right we see the power button and the volume rockers, while the left of the phone sees a SIM tray possibly for nano SIM cards.
The Google logo is seen on the back panel.
Pixel 8 Pro Specifications
The report also goes on to reveal certain key specifications of the Google Pixel 8 Pro.
It is expected to sport a 6.52-inch display panel with a punch-hole style cutout for selfie camera.
The dimensions are revealed to be 162.6×76.5×8.7mm, with a thickness of 12mm around the camera bump.
Notably, we saw the first-ever Pixel 8 series leak in November 2022.
It revealed the codenames for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are “Shiba” and “Husky” respectively.
The report also suggested that the Pixel 8 series could see a new processor, most likely the Tensor G3, which had been codenamed “Zuma”.
Pixel 8
Next up, we have another report, this time by MySmartPrice in collaboration with Onleaks, that has leaked the design renders for the Pixel 8.
It shows the upcoming smartphone in a white colour option.
Furthermore, the back panel has a smaller oval-shaped dual camera setup with an LED flash alongside.
Much like the Pixel 8 Pro renders, these also show a more curved design on the Pixel 8 as well.
This is a departure from the sharp edges of the predecessors. The report suggests the smartphone will sport a 5.8-inch display with the same punch-hole camera design up top.
Other than that, features around the smartphone remain largely same as those seen on the Pixel 8 Pro renders.
Furthermore, the dimensions are expected to be 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm, with a maximum thickness of 12mm around the camera module.
This makes it smaller than the Pixel 7.
Pixel 8 Specifications
Apart from the dimensions and screen size, the Pixel 8 will likely be powered by the yet-to-be announced Tensor G3 processor from Google.
The full-HD+ screen could come with a resolution of 2268 x 1080 pixels.
Other specifications could be leaked closer to the expected Google I/O 2023 launch.
Google Pixel 8 Design Renders: What You Need to Know
The Google Pixel 8 will be the entry-level flagship in the company’s premium smartphone lineup for 2023 and is expected to be unveiled in May 2023.
Ahead of the launch, tipster OnLeaks has shared the design renders of the upcoming Pixel flagship smartphone, which reveal that it will continue to feature a dual-camera setup.
The phone is likely to miss out on a telephoto camera sensor, which might remain exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro.
There is an LED flash outside the oval-shaped camera module on the protruding visor. The phone is a lot more rounded around the corners.
This itself gives the Pixel 8 a different look compared to the boxy design of the Pixel 7. The change in design also has resulted in the Pixel 8 sporting a smaller display.
OnLeaks tells us that the Pixel 8 will have a circa 5.8-inch display. The screen will remain flat and sport a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.
The Pixel 8 is also smaller than its predecessor, according to OnLeaks.
The phone will measure roughly about 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm. If you include the thick camera visor, the Pixel 8 will measure 12mm.
The frame is curved and houses the power and volume buttons on the right edge.
We can also see some antenna lines on the frame, suggesting that the phone will come with a metal chassis.
At the bottom edge, there is the USB Type-C port with cutouts for the primary speaker and the microphone.
