HMD Fusion X1 – A Phone for Teens With Parental Controls
HMD introduced the Fusion X1, a smartphone designed to balance teen appeal with strong parental controls. Developed in collaboration with Xplora, the phone offers built-in safety features via an Xplora subscription starting at €4.99 per month.
This launch follows HMD’s Better Phone Project, which aims to reduce the negative effects of smartphone use on young people. In a survey of 10,000 parents, HMD found that 75% worry about internet dangers, 65% are concerned about their children’s mental health and over half regret giving their kids smartphones too early.
To address these concerns, the Fusion X1 includes OS-level parental controls through the Xplora app. With the help of the app, parents can do the following –
- Block social media and internet access completely or set limits
- Track the phone’s location every 20 seconds
- Set up safe zones & get alerts when their child leaves them
- Enable SOS emergency calls and low battery alerts
- Activate School Mode to restrict apps during school hours

While packed with safety tools, the Fusion X1 also appeals to teens with its features. It comes with 108MP AI camera, 5000mAh battery, face & fingerprint unlock, 3.5mm headphone jack and IP54 splash resistance.
Like the previous HMD Fusion, the X1 features a modular design with interchangeable “Outfits” that can add extra functions like a gaming grip, ring light or bigger battery.

This nostalgic feature phone is designed for distraction-free use during football matches. HMD calls it the “Tiki-Taka of phones – simple, efficient, and smooth.” It comes in Barcelona’s iconic Blau and Grana colour options.
The phone features FC Barcelona wallpapers & custom UI, a special version of “Snake” set on a digital football pitch and Hidden audio messages from Barça players
Key specs include a 2MP camera, 4G connectivity, 1450mAh battery, and IP54 splash resistance. With the success of the revamped Nokia 3210 last year, HMD is keeping the retro trend alive.

This special edition smartphone comes with a “Smart Outfit” protective case engraved with the signatures of 11 FC Barcelona players, which glow under UV light. It also includes audio greetings & alarm sounds from Barça players like Lewandowski, De Jong and Gavi and comes with the FC Barcelona official app.
As for key specs, it features 108MP dual camera & 50MP front camera with gesture controls, 5G connectivity and Detox Mode to mute notifications.
Like other Fusion models, this one supports modular attachments for selfie lighting, gaming controls, or extra durability. HMD also highlights repairability, with support from iFixit for home repairs.
