Honor unveiled the Magic 7 lineup consisting of Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro recently in China.
However, the brand appears to be working on expanding the lineup with a new budget-friendly Magic 7 Lite model.
Hints about this Lite variant started doing rounds in the tech community after it was spotted in both the Google Play Supported Devices and Play Console databases recently.
There were previous reports speculating that a follow-up of last year’s Magic 6 Lite is on the way. However, the recent appearance in console listings suggests that the Magic 7 Lite may not be an entirely new model as many had hoped.
According to the Play Console listing, Magic 7 Lite has the same model number HNBRP-Q1 as the recently launched Honor X9c in Malaysia. This could mean we will only be getting a rebranded version on X9c.
While the Play Console listing labels the device as the Magic 7 Lite, it appears that beyond the name, there may be minimal differences in specs.
The listing reveals that the phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC with an Adreno 619 GPU and will come with a substantial 12GB of RAM.
However, details on storage and camera specs remain unknown for now.
The device is also listed with the same resolution of 1224×2700 as the Honor X9c, supporting the rumour that it could be a rebranded model.
If this turns out to be true then the Magic 7 Lite may also feature a large 6,600mAh battery, a 6.78-inch curved OLED display and durable construction with a 2.2-meter drop resistance rating.
With the recent launch of the Honor X9c, it can be easily assumed that the Magic 7 Lite is simply a rebranded version for a different region.
However, Honor could still have some unique tweaks planned for this Lite variant.
We’ll need to wait for an official announcement to confirm all the details.
