Infinix Note 50x 5G+ – Unboxing
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Design and Build Quality
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ comes with a major design upgrade from its predecessor. The phone comes in vegan leather and metallic finishes with some cool colour options. For this review, we had the Titanium Grey colour variant in a metallic finish. At first glance, the phone looks quite premium with its polished aesthetic.
The octagonal gem-cut camera module is different from the regular square or circular modules we usually get to see in smartphones. The camera module has integrated what the brand calls Active Halo Lighting. It is a cool design choice where a light is triggered in different patterns for notifications, calls, charging and more. There is even a Halo light pattern for a countdown timer, which can be used for photography.
It seems lightweight at around 195g with a slim 7.98mm frame. There is a soft curve around the edges that makes it easier to grip. The corners are rounded to give the phone a smoother look.
The build quality of the phone is also something we have to talk about. NOTE 50x 5G+ comes with Military Grade Durability and has been designed to withstand tough situations. The phone is MIL-STD-810H certified, IP64 rated and splash-proof rated. This means the phone is capable of handling drops, dust, water and even extreme temperatures. It also supports wet and greasy touch. The build looks sturdy as well, just as the phone feels solid in hand.
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Display and Multimedia Experience
The NOTE 50x 5G+ features a decent IPS LCD punch-hole display that seems to be a good addition to an everyday phone. It is 6.67 inches HD+ with 1a 20Hz refresh rate that according to the brand can easily support streaming or gaming needs.
Visually, we found the display quite similar to what we have already seen in the Infinix Note 40X last year. In fact, some of the specs have seen a downgrade if we compare them on the specs sheet. To be honest, we wish it was an AMOLED panel this year to enhance the overall visual experience.
The bezels are noticeable, especially the chin. It comes with a typical brightness of 560 nits and peak brightness of 672 nits. We felt this was satisfactory for indoor use, but as soon as you are out in the day time, the phone brightness hardly manages to keep up.
The 120Hz refresh rate manages to keep things smooth. We didn’t face any lags or hangups for whatever time we used to phone.
Infinix has incorporated the NOTE 50x 5G+ with Dual Speakers, DTS Audio Processing and Hi-Res Audio features to elevate the overall multimedia experience. The audio quality is good when indoors.
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Hardware, Software and Performance
One of the key highlights of the phone is that it features the World’s 1st MediaTek Dimensity 7300 ULTIMATE processor. It promises ultra-fast performance, smooth gaming and seamless multitasking. Paired with up to 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB UFS2.2 ROM, the phone comes equipped with hardware that should be able to handle all tasks smoothly. The 128 GB internal storage does seem limited, but it appears that’s the only option NOTE 50x 5G+ users will get.
We have managed to spend a good amount of time with the phone, and it does deliver most of its promises when it comes to performance. We had the 6 GB RAM variant and it manages to stay smooth for all everyday tasks ensuring a pleasant overall experience. We didn’t face any issues in everyday use, which mostly involves internet surfing, emails, streaming, social media scrolling, UPI payments and so on. The phone hardly runs into any performance issues and can manage multitasking quite well.
Our variant scored 602713 on AnTuTu, which seems quite modest compared to many competitor phones in the segment. We also put the phone through some other benchmarking tests and below are the results for reference.
NOTE 50x 5G+ has a dedicated Game Mode and supports 90FPS gaming in ideal conditions. We tried playing some of the popular demanding games on the phone and the overall experience was good. You can expect the phone to support your gaming sessions well when played at medium graphic settings. The frame drops or any stuttering was barely noticeable, if any. It also manages thermals well. We didn’t experience any heating issues even during long gaming sessions.
The smartphone comes with XOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. Now, this introduces some cool new refreshed appearance changes. The UI is clean and has plenty of customisation options for icon size, shape, and colour. There are some interesting features such as Dynamic Bar, Smart Panel and Peek Proof.
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Camera Performance
NOTE 50x 5G+ boasts a 50MP ultra-clear dual rear camera with dual LED flash on rear. It is supported with 12 photography modes and AI features to enhance the overall shooting experience. There is an 8MP Selfie camera with a front and screen flash to support video calls, selfies and other front camera requirements.
Overall, the camera performance of the NOTE 50x 5G+ is decent for a phone in this segment. It takes clear pictures in broad daylight with minimum noise. The colour balance in the pictures is good. However, what’s surprising is how the phone manages to do an impressive job in low light conditions as well.

Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Night Camera Samples
You will notice that in most of the pictures above that the end result is quite natural. There is no over-smoothening or artificial elements in the shots. The dynamic range is also impressive.
NOTE 50x 5G+ can shoot 4K videos on the rear and 2K videos on the front for you. We tried capturing some videos in different lighting conditions and got some sharp videos.

Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – AI Features
AI is becoming the industry standard and Infinix clearly doesn’t want to fall behind in the race. NOTE 50x 5G+ comes with next-gen Infinix AI support. Some fun features you can explore include AIGC Portrait Mode in the camera, AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Note, Folax- AI Voice Assistant, AI Gallery- AI Eraser, AI Cut-out and AI Search.
There are also a bunch of productivity features such as –
- Writing Assistant– Generate and Rewrite Text
- Document Assistant– Summarise and Ask Questions
- Call Assistant – Auto-Answer, Summarise and Transcribe your calls (Proficient in English only)
- Circle to Search
- Social Assistant – Summarise and Transcribe calls on Social Media like WhatsApp
We tested these features and most of them work better than one would expect from a phone in this segment. The Wallpaper Generator is a fun feature, the AI Eraser does a decent job and even Folax seems to be quite fine-tuned.
Here are some nice wallpapers we created using the Infinix AI Wallpaper Generator.
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ – Battery and Charging
The phone comes with a high-capacity 5500mAh SolidCore (semi-solid state) battery. The semi-solid battery means you get more capacity without making the phone too heavy. It is good to get you through the entire day with average or even moderate use. However, with heavy usage, such as long gaming sessions or streaming content, you can expect the phone to offer around 5 to 6 hours of screen time.
For situations when you need power tops, Infinis is packing 45W Type-C Fast Charging support that delivers rapid power-ups. The good thing is that Infinix is bundling a 45W adapter inside the box, which so many brands today don’t care for.
The All-Round FastCharge 3.0 gives features like Wired Reverse Charging, Bypass Charging, Smart Charge mode, and Low-Temp Charge mode. There is also 10W Wired Reverse Charging. Moreover, Infinix claims up to 2300 Charge Cycles, which means a battery life of approximately 6 Years.
Verdict – Should You Buy Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+?
Infinix NOTE 50x 5G+ is a good smartphone for an average user. It carries a decent mix of features to support various tasks that we expect from a phone in today’s time. The design is refreshing with polished aesthetics, build quality is solid, the processor supports multitasking or heavy gaming, battery capacity is at par with industry standard and the camera is decent.
The phone also brings new software improvements and a whole set of AI features that together promise to elevate the overall smartphone experience.
