LinkedIn is jumping on the AI trend in a big way.

Unveiling new AI-powered tools on Thursday, the professional networking site will make it easier for people to seek and apply for jobs.

Hari Srinivasan, VP of Product at LinkedIn and the author of the announcement, added: “We work closely with each instructor to ensure the AI-powered responses are authentic to their teaching style and aligned to their expertise to ensure a high-quality experience. As we enter a new world of generative AI technologies, we’re beginning to roll out royalties when learners access our instructors’ expertise using AI-powered coaching within a course. If a learner uses this feature to ask a question within the course, the instructor will be paid for it.”

“The responses you’ll receive are trained by experts and represent a blend of insights that are personalized to each learner’s unique needs,” LinkedIn chief product officer TomerCohen says. 

“With our new search capabilities, every search interaction becomes smarter — whether you’re looking to find someone, explore jobs, conduct outreach, or seek knowledge and answers,” Cohen says. “AI is set to revolutionize our search capabilities, enabling you to explore the depth and breadth of any topic directly through LinkedIn search.” Cohen promises that search enhancements will be rolled out “in the coming weeks.”

AI Job Search

One of the major new features lets you search for a job opening just by describing what you want in normal language.

You might simply say, “Find me marketing manager roles in Chicago paying over $80,000.”

Rather than keyword searches, the AI will learn and bring back up relevant job listings.

But that’s not all-the AI for this social media platform doesn’t just stop there.

It even offers AI-generated cover letters and letters of introduction, once you hit upon potential roles.

Also, AI is going to review your résumé and give you personalized feedback so that you put forward your best self to potential employers.

Then, once you find jobs to apply for, AI on LinkedIn will auto-fill a cover letter and an introduction of yourself for that role.

It will also review your resume for you and give you some feedback to really help you be your best.

New AI Learning Courses

There has been a huge 160 percent increase in demand for the AI skills courses at LinkedIn over the past year as workers seek to learn about the emerging tech.

Now, if you are one of its premium subscribers, AI-powered coaches will give personalized advice and guidance as you watch these instructional videos.

The difference will be evident in the next couple of weeks; people will have a more natural, conversational way of searching and just find things more easily and accurately.
