We’ve been using the Moto G45 5G for a week now, and it didn’t take us long to get used to handling the phone. First off, the phone’s design adds to the overall feel.

The soft tactile vegan leather finish gives off this classy, elegant vibe that you’ll appreciate every time you pick it up.

Plus, it’s super lightweight at just 183g, which makes it easy to carry around without feeling bulky.

What we like most is the boxy body with those nicely curved corners. It’s just right—not too sharp and definitely comfortable to hold. One-hand operation? Not an issue at all!

The camera module is also a nice touch. It’s neatly integrated into the back panel, and there’s no annoying lens sticking out. In fact, it’s so flat that you barely notice it’s there, giving the phone a clean, sleek look.

The button placement feels natural too.

The build feels solid for a budget-friendly phone. It even comes with an IP52 rating, so it can handle a bit of dust and water spray without breaking a sweat. So far, it’s been a smooth experience.

Moto G45 5G – Display

Moto G45 5G – Display
Display Size 6.5″ display
Display Technology LCD| 120Hz refresh rate
Resolution IPS LCD HD+ (1600 x 720) | 269ppi
Aspect Ratio 20:9
Screen-to-Body Ratio Active Area-Touch Panel (AA-TP): 85%

While at the beginning the display didn’t seem any impressive, after using the Moto G45 5G for some time, it feels like a solid performer.

The 6.5-inch screen with its almost uniform bezels feels immersive.  Whether scrolling through social media or watching videos, the display is vibrant.

While the HD+ resolution (1600 x 720) isn’t the sharpest out there, it’s good enough for everyday use, especially for a phone in this price range.

What really stands out is the 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a nice touch that you don’t always get in this segment. And it does make a difference in the overall performance. It makes navigating through apps, swiping between screens, and even playing games feel smoother and more fluid.

However, we did feel at times touch was unresponsive. We had to swipe 3 to 5 times to register commands.

Anyhow, the display’s colours and brightness are good. Viewing angles too are decent and outdoor visibility holds up decently.

But if you’ve ever used an OLED, you might notice that an extra “punch” is definitely missing rather noticeably. Anyhow, for what it offers, the screen does a pretty good job overall.

Moto G45 5G – Performance

Moto G45 5G – Performance
Processor Qualcomm SD 6s Gen 3 (6 nm), Octa-core (2×2.30 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55), Adreno 619 900 Mhz
Operating System Android™ 14
Memory (RAM) 4GB / 8GB with RAM Boost
Storage 128GB built-in |Expandable to 1TB

Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 octa-core processor, the Moto G45 5G feels quick and responsive. We had the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant for this review and it is more than enough for regular usage.

Apps open smoothly and switching between them is snappy. While we used the phone for long hours, we hardly noticed any lags or hangs. With a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz, it is actually a perfect phone for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and messaging.

Multitasking is seamless too, thanks to the octa-core setup.

We tried running a couple of apps in the background and didn’t experience any stuttering.

We performed some benchmark tests on the phone and it stood strong in most. Here are some results for reference.

Overall, the G45 5G is fast and reliable for daily use.

Rear Main Camera 50MP sensor (Aperture f/1.8, Quad Pixel technology for 0.64µm) | PDAF

Camera 28 MP (Aperture f/2.4, Pixel Size 1.75µm) macro fixed focus

Front Camera Hardware 16MP (f/2.4, 1.0µm/2.0µm Ultra Pixel)

We found the camera pretty impressive for its range. The 50MP Quad Pixel camera delivers sharp and detailed photos, especially in good lighting conditions.

We’ve taken some nice outdoor shots. The pictures really capture the details and colours well in good lighting. It’s one of those cameras that doesn’t need much tweaking for casual photography.

What troubled us in this phone was the slow shutter speed. It takes a good 4 to 5 seconds for the camera to take the shot. This delay ruined some of the pictures we were trying to take.

The 16MP selfie camera also does a solid job. It captures well-lit and clear selfies.

The Night Vision performance is below par though. There was a lack of clarity in most photos that we tried to take in the night mode. Night modes photos are also a bit blurry if you fail to keep your hand in absolute steadiness.

The low-light shots without processing could have been better.

When it comes to video shooting, the Moto G45 5G performs decently. It captures smooth footage in good lighting. While it’s not the best for low-light videos, it’s reliable enough for everyday recordings or quick clips.

Moto G45 5G – Battery Life

Moto G45 5G – Battery Life
Battery Size 5000mAh
Charging TurboPower 20W charger

After use, the Moto G45 5G battery life has been a real highlight. With its hefty 5000mAh capacity, the phone easily works through a full day. You can rely on it for moderate to heavy use.

We tried everything, from browsing, streaming videos, or sneaking in a bit of gaming and the battery supported throughout. At least you do not have to be constantly searching for a charger.

And when it does come time to charge, the TurboPower 20W charger does a decent job.

It’s not the fastest charger out there, but it gets the job done without making you wait forever. We usually got a nice battery boost in a short time.

All in all, the battery and charging balance convenience and performance pretty well.

The sleek design with its lightweight build is perfect for daily use. The display is smooth, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. And though it’s not OLED, it gets the job done. The 5000mAh battery lasts easily through a full day. The TurboPower charging is a convenient added advantage. The camera offers versatility too.
