The phone was earlier expected to be named the OnePlus V Fold but new reports have tipped that the OnePlus Open moniker has been finalised for the upcoming device.
The brand teased the release of the phone publicly during the OnePlus 11 launch event and confirmed a Q3 2023 launch.
As per a new leak, the OnePlus Open will be unveiled next month, on August 29th. Reliable tipster Max Jambor also corroborated the leaked launch date in a recent tweet.
The global event is expected to be held in New York. However, we still do not know how soon this new device will be available for sale.

Leaks further suggest that this foldable smartphone might come equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking and a display featuring a punch-hole camera design.

Jambor also revealed the likely launch timeline for the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone — OnePlus 12. The tipster suggests that OnePlus may launch the OnePlus 12 smartphone in December this year.
However, it will be only the China launch and the global launch is expected to happen early next year.

According to the leaked information, the flagship smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 12, is rumoured to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Additionally, the OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a triple rear camera system developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. The rear camera setup is speculated to include a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 64MP periscope camera.
The periscope camera technology enhances the zoom capabilities of the smartphone, similar to how Google Pixel phones achieve up to 5x optical zoom and Samsung Ultra devices utilise it for their 10x telephoto lens. It seems that OnePlus may be adopting this technology as well.
There are no pricing details on the OnePlus Open yet but it should be less the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 following the brand’s usual pricing.
OnePlus revealed its new Nord series of smartphones earlier this month and is not expected to end its cycle of phone launches this year with OnePlus Open.
The OnePlus 12 is expected to make its way to the brand’s home country, China, in December with a slightly refreshed design and a periscope camera.
