Samsung is all set to introduce its next-generation foldable smartphones at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22. Leaks and rumours, however, have revealed the complete specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. That’s not all. The marketing renders of both smartphones also surfaced online recently revealing key design details. Here’s everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming foldable flagship devices before the launch.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 – Specifications (Expected)

According to a report by WinFuture, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a wider design compared to earlier Galaxy Z Fold models. The device is tipped to sport a 7.6-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2,448 x 1,848 pixels, a 4:3 aspect ratio, and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. On the outside, it is expected to feature a 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a resolution of 1,248 x 1,972 pixels and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. 

For photography, the foldable is said to include a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. It is also expected to feature two 10MP selfie cameras, one on each display, both with f/2.2 apertures.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is reportedly powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. It is expected to be available with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage as the base configuration, while 512GB and 1TB storage options are also expected. The 1TB variant is tipped to come with 16GB RAM.

The smartphone is also expected to support 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. It is said to pack a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is tipped to measure 161.4 x 123.9 x 4.5mm, weigh 201g, and carry an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. It is expected to launch in Graphite, Cream, Lavender, and Pistachio colour options.

As per the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could start at €1,999 in Europe.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra – Specifications (Expected)

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is expected to arrive as Samsung’s flagship foldable smartphone for 2026. According to the leak, it will feature a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, while the main 8-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display is tipped to offer a resolution of 2,504 x 2,256 pixels. Both displays are expected to support refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

Unlike the standard model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is said to retain the taller and narrower design seen on previous Galaxy Z Fold smartphones. The device is also expected to feature an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

On the camera front, the Ultra variant is tipped to offer a more advanced setup than the standard model. It is expected to feature a 200MP primary camera with OIS and an f/1.7 aperture, a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. For selfies and video calls, the phone is also said to include two 10MP front-facing cameras with f/2.2 apertures.

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and is tipped to arrive in three configurations such as 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage. It is also expected to use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Battery capacity is said to increase to 5,000mAh, while 45W wired fast charging will be supported. The report also mentions support for wireless charging, although the charging speed has not been disclosed. Previous rumours had claimed that both Galaxy Z Fold 8 series smartphones would support 20W fast wireless charging.

Connectivity options are expected to include 5G, GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is tipped to be available in Cream, Graphite, Green Shadow, and Violet Shadow colour options. It is also said to measure just 4.1mm in thickness when unfolded and weigh 218g.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 series in September 2026 with the lineup likely to include the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Ultra. Ahead of the anticipated launch, a fresh leak has shed more light on the camera hardware of the top-end model. According to an exclusive report by Notebookcheck, a leaked diagnostics log has reiterated earlier claims about the iPhone 18 Pro Max receiving a new primary camera sensor with variable aperture support.

iPhone 18 Pro Max – Diagnostics Log Reveals Camera Details

The report states that the diagnostics log is part of a collection of internal Tata Electronics files that were leaked online in June by the ransomware group World Leaks. The log reportedly confirms Apple’s planned camera hardware changes and supports an earlier Notebookcheck report published in early July.

One of the biggest revelations is the inclusion of a Sony IMX905 primary camera sensor, which is said to replace the sensor used in the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Although the sensor retains the same 1.22μm pixel size, the upgrade is reportedly centred around the addition of a variable aperture rather than an increase in sensor size.

The diagnostics log also reportedly includes a calibration block containing actuator data stored in the sensor’s non-volatile memory, which is said to confirm support for the variable aperture mechanism.

While several Android smartphone manufacturers have already adopted variable aperture technology, it would mark the first time an iPhone is equipped with the feature.

iPhone 18 Pro Max – Other Cameras Expected to Remain Unchanged

According to the leaked diagnostics log, the remaining camera hardware is expected to carry over from the iPhone 17 Pro Max without any major changes.

The smartphone is tipped to retain the Sony IMX973 telephoto sensor, Sony IMX972 ultra-wide sensor, Sony IMX591 LiDAR receiver, and Sony IMX914 front-facing camera.

The report also mentions that the telephoto camera features 0.7μm native pixels, which can be combined into 1.4μm pixels through pixel binning. It is also expected to continue using a 3-axis spherical actuator for gimbal-style optical image stabilisation (OIS), similar to the previous generation.

The latest leak also backs earlier reports claiming that Apple has been testing variable aperture technology for both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to launch alongside the rest of the iPhone 18 series in September 2026. Previous reports have also suggested that Apple could increase the Pro Max’s price by around $200, partly due to rising camera component and memory production costs.

The Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro have already made their debut in China, but the two smartphones are yet to reach global markets. While Xiaomi has remained silent on international launches, new leaks continue to hint at POCO-branded versions of the devices.

After recently revealing details about the rumoured POCO M8 Power, tipster Kacper Skrzypek has now shared fresh information about the POCO X8. The latest leak suggests that the smartphone may still be in development even though previous reported claimed it was cancelled.

POCO X8 Key Details Leaked

According to the tipster, references to the POCO X8 have been found within HyperOS code. The leak indicates that the smartphone will feature a 50MP primary rear camera accompanied by a 2MP auxiliary sensor.

The camera hardware matches that of the Redmi Note 17 Pro sold in China, further strengthening speculation that the POCO X8 could launch as a rebranded version of the Redmi smartphone. Although the Redmi Note 17 Pro is currently exclusive to China, it is expected to debut in global markets soon.

If the POCO X8 is indeed based on the Redmi Note 17 Pro, it is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor and support 67W wired fast charging along with 22.5W reverse wired charging

For photography, the handset is expected to offer a 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup, while selfies and video calls could be handled by an 8MP front camera.

One of the biggest highlights of the leak is the battery capacity. The Chinese Redmi Note 17 Pro packs a 9,000mAh battery and reports suggest that the Indian variant could retain the same battery size. Meanwhile, the global version is expected to feature a slightly smaller 8,340mAh battery.

The tipster did not reveal whether the POCO X8 will be launched in separate Indian and global variants. If Xiaomi follows the same strategy as the Redmi Note 17 Pro, the Indian version of the POCO X8 could feature a 9,000mAh battery, while the global model may arrive with an 8,340mAh unit.

Oppo is gearing up to expand its K15 series in China with the launch of the Oppo K15 on July 24. The company has already introduced the Oppo K15 Pro, K15 Pro+, K15 Turbo, and K15 Turbo Pro in the lineup. Now, ahead of the official launch of the standard model in the series, it has been listed on the official Oppo Shop. The listing reveals quite a few details of the upcoming model including its design, colour options and several key specifications.

Oppo K15 Design Officially (Confirmed)

The official listing shows that the Oppo K15 follows the same design language as the K15 Pro series. It features a flat-frame design, a rectangular rear camera module, and the signature breathing light integrated into the back panel.

Oppo says the smartphone adopts a “Futuristic Speed Aesthetic” design. It also features a “Lan Ying” breathing light on the rear and will be available in Rapid White and Gale Grey colour options.

Oppo K15 – Key Specifications (Confirmed)

The Oppo K15 is confirmed to sport a 6.59-inch display, although the company has not yet disclosed its resolution or refresh rate.

After an upcoming Redmi device was recently spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification platform and later identified as the Redmi 17C 5G, more smartphones have now surfaced on the same certification database. According to a tipster on X, the latest listings include the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, the POCO X8 5G, and another unannounced POCO smartphone carrying the model number 26077PC53G. Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, POCO X8 5G Listed on IMDA

Tiptser Anvin @ZionsAnvin on X has just shared that the Singapore IMDA certification database has listed the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G with the model number 2607DRA18G. Alongside it, the POCO X8 5G bearing the model number 2607DPC18G has also appeared on the certification platform.

While the certification does not mention the model names or any other details, the model numbers matching previous appearances have given away the identities of phones.

Based on the listing, the POCO X8 5G is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, although Xiaomi has not officially confirmed this.

According to the tipster post, the certification platform has also listed another upcoming POCO smartphone with the model number 26077PC53G in addition to the above noted two devices.

The IMDA listing identifies the 26077PC53G device under the “Mobile Terminals” equipment category, confirming that it is a smartphone. However, the certification does not reveal the handset’s official marketing name, specifications, design or any other hardware details.

As of now, it also remains unclear which POCO smartphone series this device will belong to.

The equipment description mentions that all three smartphones are 5G mobile phones and will support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC connectivity. Moreover, the “G” suffix at the end of each model number suggests that these are likely the global variants of the respective smartphones.

Vivo X500 Ultra Telephoto Camera Details Leak

The latest information comes from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, who claims Vivo is evaluating different sensor sizes to determine the best balance between image quality and smartphone design.

According to the tipster’s recent post, Vivo is currently testing three different 200MP periscope telephoto sensors. These include 1/1.12-inch, 1/1.3-inch, and 1/1.4-inch sensor sizes.

Among the three, the 1/1.12-inch sensor is said to be the most ambitious option, as its larger size could significantly improve telephoto photography by capturing more light and delivering better image quality at longer focal lengths.

The 1/1.3-inch and 1/1.4-inch sensors, meanwhile, are reportedly being considered as more balanced alternatives. While they may not offer the same level of light-gathering capability as the largest sensor, they could help maintain a slimmer device profile and simplify the camera module design.

The leak indicates that Vivo’s engineering team is still weighing the advantages and compromises of each sensor before making a final decision. A larger sensor can improve imaging performance but it also demands more internal space and a more complex camera system.

Smaller sensors, on the other hand, may offer a better balance between camera quality, device thickness and overall hardware design.

Earlier Leak Suggested Change in Camera Strategy

The latest report also supports an earlier leak that surfaced in June. At the time, Digital Chat Station claimed that Vivo had abandoned its plans to equip the Vivo X500 Ultra with a dedicated 10x periscope telephoto camera.

Instead, the company was said to have scrapped a prototype featuring the 10x telephoto lens and shifted its focus to a single 200MP periscope camera combined with in-sensor zoom technology.

Since the Vivo X500 Ultra is still under development, its final camera hardware has yet to be confirmed and could change before production begins. However, the latest leak suggests Vivo is continuing to fine-tune its imaging system to optimise telephoto performance before the smartphone enters mass production.

As for the launch timeline, the Vivo X500 Ultra is not expected to launch this year. Based on current reports, the flagship smartphone is likely to make its debut in the first half of 2027.
