With expectation building over Google’s Pixel line-up, most eyes are set on the Pixel 9 series and, more noticeably, the Pixel Fold 2.
Though the design of the successor to the Pixel 8 series was already shown through 5K renders, amongst other leaks.
Now a new leak by a case manufacturer shows us how the Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2 would look like when covered in cases.
Leaked Case Renders: Pixel Fold 2
These images got leaked through accessory maker Thinborne and were picked up by ITHome.
From the leak, it seems that Thinborne will make at least one case type for both these models.
The cases are apparently made from tough 600D Aramid Fibre that supports MagSafe.
Aramid Fibre is commonly used in the aerospace industry and is reportedly five times lighter and stronger than steel.
Coming back to the Pixel Fold 2, the phone seems to retain a similar design to its predecessor but with a slightly refined form factor.
The outside screen now looks a little taller and thinner than the one on the original Pixel Fold and features a centrally-placed punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter.
The inner folding screen is also unlikely to have huge bezels and instead have a punch hole for the camera.
The rear will have a big square-camera module that will house triple cameras and an LED flash.
Pixel 9 Design Reveal
Coming straight to the Pixel 9 series, not much seems to have changed upfront with the design except for some adjustments with the camera module.
The rear houses an oval-shaped camera module with a marginally rearranged layout of the camera sensors.
An LED flash is also visible.
The camera module appears to be made of metal and rests on top of a glass back panel.
Additionally, the bundled screen protector also hints at slim bezels for the Pixel 9 series.
Interestingly, the leak seems to confirm earlier rumours about multiple variants in the Pixel 9 series.
Recently leaked live images showed four models of handsets: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 XL, and Pixel 9 XL Pro.
This will be a sea change if it happens, as till date, Google has largely followed the two-model approach with its Pixel and Pixel Pro variants since the time of the Pixel 6.
A hardware event by Google later this year, probably around October, should still see the company unveil many of the Pixel 9 series and Pixel Fold 2 products that fans are now expecting.
