I just got my hands on the Realme P1 Pro, and right off the bat, it’s clear that this device is set to shake up the upper-budget smartphone scene.

The device is part of the new Realme P series which is geared towards a more premium budget experience.

With standout features like a 50MP main camera and a curved display (something becoming increasingly common for sub-Rs 20,000 phones) with a 120Hz refresh rate, the P1 Pro packs some serious punch.

Realme P1 Pro: Unboxing

Unboxing the Realme P1 Pro was quite the experience.

Inside the box, I found the sleek device itself, a 45W charger, and the usual documentation.

Realme P1 Pro: Design and Display

Holding the Realme P1 Pro, the first thing that strikes you is its elegant, curved display which not only looks modern but feels immersive, especially with its 120Hz refresh rate and high brightness level.

With 6.7-inch OLED panel you can be assured of an immersive visual experience from the get-go.

However, I did notice a bit of blue tinge across the panel when viewed slightly from an angle.

Apart from that the design of the device is inspired by bird culture in Parrot Blue or Phoenix Red is visually striking and feels premium in hand.

I’m excited to explore how this design holds up in daily use, but the early impressions are promising enough.

Realme P1 Pro: Cameras

The Realme P1 Pro sports a 50MP main camera that promises stunning photos thanks in part to its large size and its optical image stabilization capabilities.

Omitted in the regular P1, the Pro moniker does have an ultra-wide camera while , from my limited time, the selfie camera seemed promising too.

The initial shots I’ve taken are impressive, but I’ll be testing these cameras thoroughly to see how they perform across various lighting and motion scenarios.

This device runs smoothly thanks to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset.

Whether I’m gaming or multitasking, it handles it all without a hitch.

Up to 8GB of RAM does make the device quite responsive and fluid and you also do get up to 256GB of internal storage.

The real test will be how it manages heat and battery life during intensive use, something I’ll focus on in the upcoming full review.

Feature-wise the phone has all the basics including a stereo-speaker setup and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
