In a post on Weibo, Redmi confirmed that the Redmi K100 series will be introduced in China on August 11. The company will initially unveil only the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max.

As for the standard Redmi K100, the company has clarified that its launch has been postponed and the smartphone will be introduced at a later date.

Xiaomi President Lu Weibing explained that the vanilla Redmi K100 will continue to focus on delivering flagship-level performance and a balanced user experience. According to the company, increasing memory prices and rising component costs prompted Redmi to bring the Pro models to market earlier than its usual release schedule.

Redmi K100 Pro Max Design Officially Revealed

Along with the launch date announcement, Redmi also showcased the Redmi K100 Pro Max in a new Cabernet Sauvignon Red colour option.

The smartphone features a colour-matched metal frame and a redesigned rear panel with a floating light ring surrounding the camera module. Redmi has also confirmed that the handset will feature a 6.9-inch OLED display.

Images shared by the company also suggest that the device carries Sound by Bose branding on the rear panel, hinting at an enhanced audio experience.

Lu Weibing further revealed that the Redmi K100 Pro Max will be positioned in the 4K price segment. He also reiterated that the standard Redmi K100 is still part of the lineup but will launch separately at a later stage.

According to previous reports, the Redmi K100 series is expected to be rebranded for global markets. The Redmi K100 Pro is likely to launch internationally as the Poco F9 Pro, while the Redmi K100 Pro Max is expected to debut globally as the Poco F9 Ultra.
