Galaxy S23 Series Smartphones Sold in India will be manufactured at Samsung’s Noida Factory
Samsung has announced that all flagship GalaxyS23 series devices that will be sold in India would be manufactured locally at the company’s Noida facility.
The Korean electronics company currently manufactures the Galaxy S series flagship smartphones at its Vietnam facility and imports them for sale in India.
The latest flagships have been designed with the planet in mind. It is made using more recycled materials than the Galaxy S22 series, including pre-consumer recycled aluminium and recycled glass, and post-consumer recycled plastics sourced from discarded fishing nets, water barrels and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles.
Galaxy S23 series comes with Samsung Knox protection, which has received more government and industry certifications than any other mobile device, platform, or solution on the market.
For an added layer of security, Knox Vault, which was first introduced on the Galaxy S21 series, protects critical information on the Galaxy S23 series by isolating it from the rest of the device, including the OS, for added protection against vulnerabilities.
Notably, Apple also manufactures the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus in India.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 series was recently launched at the company’s Unpacked event and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, which gets up to 1TB of internal storage, 45W fast charging support and a new 200MP main camera sensor.
Samsung inaugurated the World’s Largest Mobile Factory in Noida in 2018, with the vision to make India a global manufacturing hub. This factory was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Samsung also set up the World’s Largest Mobile Experience Centre at the iconic Opera House in Bengaluru, further strengthening its commitment to India.
The newly launched Galaxy S23 series – Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 – are the new standard-bearers of a trustworthy premium smartphone experience, merging power and lasting innovation in devices that have less environmental impact.
Galaxy S23 series smartphones come with “Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy” to deliver a premium experience, including groundbreaking AI, future-ready mobile gaming experience and powerfully sustained game play with the world’s fastest mobile graphics.
The new S23 series also comes with more recycled materials than any other Samsung Galaxy smartphone.
Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with Samsung’s most advanced camera system, tailored for nearly any lighting conditions and engineered to render incredible detail.
Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor that captures epic moments with incredible precision.
Samsung to Manufacture its Galaxy S23 Series Smartphones in India
The announcement comes on the lines of the announcement of the Union Budget 2023-24, wherein import duties on mobile phone camera lenses have been reduced, positively affecting manufacturing in India.
While Samsung has been manufacturing its phones in India since 2007, the recent developments have come courtesy of the company’s drive to commit to India’s ‘Make in India’ policies. The Samsung Galaxy S23 flagship series of smartphones will be manufactured at the company’s Noida facility in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The massive facility was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi back in 2018 and its the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturing facility. This facility is working in full swing and already caters to the domestic demand for Samsung phones.
The drive to manufacture high-end electronic devices in India has been adopted by many other companies and companies such as Apple have started manufacturing iPhones in India in a bid shift focus from its manufacturing facilities in China. Apple manufactures iPhone 12 series onwards in India, barring the Pro models.
