Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra rumours and speculations are creating the most noise in the online tech community these days.

Every day there are new updates or details about the device coming up, keeping it interesting for Samsung fans out there.

This shouldn’t be a surprise since the release of the S25 Ultra is now just a couple of months away.

In fact, we can expect the rumour mill to go on overdrive in the coming weeks. The recent updates, however, aren’t such a good news

We recently had multiple sources suggesting Galaxy S25 Ultra parts production has now started.

However, some leakers hint that may not match up to Apple’s top phones in display technology. Here’s a quick rundown of every news break on Galaxy S25 production we have had recently.

First, we had popular leaker Roland Quandt on X (previously Twitter) revealing that Samsung suppliers have already started manufacturing parts for the Galaxy S25 series.

It is interesting to note that Samsung started the production for the Galaxy S24 around November 2023, Referencing this timeline, fans online were quick to infer that Samsung is probably ahead of schedule this year even though this in no way means we can assume an early launch for the Galaxy S25.

Anyhow, Soon after Quandt’s post, insider Ice Universe shared that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s screen would improve over the Galaxy S24 Ultra in areas like brightness, viewing angle and colour accuracy.

Based on these enhancements, Ice Universe speculated that the S25 Ultra might use the newer M14 display material, which is also reportedly used in the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models.

However, not everyone has the same update to share. Well-known display analyst Ross Young and tipster Jukanlosreve suggest Samsung will stick with the M13 material, the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

According to Young, Samsung might be avoiding the M14 panel to keep costs down, especially with the higher production costs associated with phones featuring advanced AI capabilities, which require better chips, more memory and more storage.

Meanwhile, social media leakers and tipsters are not the only sources to confirm the use of M13 material. South Korean outlet ET News also reported that Samsung is sticking with M13 for the Galaxy S25 series based on inside word that Samsung Display has started taking orders based on this material.

According to previously leaked reports, the Galaxy S25 series is expected to have the following display sizes –

  • The base model – 6.16-inch screen
  • The Plus model – 6.66-inch display
  • The Ultra model – 6.86-inch screen

There could be some Samsung fans who are disappointed knowing that the company is compromising on display technology to cut costs, but we have to consider the optics of the ultimate device the company is trying to offer before being the judge. Moreover, this also aligns with the pattern of Samsung using its display material sets for two generations.
