While the speculations around Motorola launching Moto X40 soon in the Chinese market are high, the device had its AnTuTu benchmark scores revealed recently. Lenovo Group General Manager for Mobile Division Chen Jin recently revealed that Moto X40 has scored a whopping 1312901 points in the AnTuTu benchmark test.
The results have tech enthusiasts excited since this is a much higher score than the 12661012 points scored by MediaTek Dimensity 9200 in the same test. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Moto X40 is one of the first few smartphones that are being launched with the processor. MediaTek Dimensity 9200 is a segment rival of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and such difference in their AnTuTu scores definitely pose the latter as a clear winner.
Chen Jin made the revelation by sharing a screenshot of the AnTuTu benchmark scoreboard of the Moto X40. This score in itself gives a basic idea of what the users should expect from Qualcomm’s flagship SoC. The scores make it quite evident that Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would perform a tad better in comparison to the MediaTek Dimensity 9200.
As mentioned earlier, Moto X40 is one of the first few devices to have been powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Other than Moto X40, there is Vivo X90 Pro+, the iQOO 11 lineup, the Xiaomi 13 series, and also the OnePlus 11 to come out with the same processor this year. All these smartphones are going to be the flagship devices of the respective brands. Similar to Moto X40, all these devices will also record their AnTuTu score in order to give customers a clear idea of what to expect from them.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor is basically a 4nm chip that features 2.8GHz 2 x Kryo Cortex-A715 performance cores, a 3.2GHz Cortex-X3 prime core, 2.8GHz 2 x Kryo Cortex-A510 performance cores, and 2.0GHz Kryo efficiency cores.
Although there is still some time before we will get to see the full reveal of the Moto X40 and its specifications, the rumours mill has been doing its job. If several leaks and tips are to be believed, the device will sport a 6.67 inch OLED FHD+ resolution display, 10-bit colours with curved edges on all four sides. After the device was spotted at TENAA, many tech bloggers speculated that Moto X40 will have under display fingerprint scanner and will most likely run on the Android 13 OS based MY UI 5.0.
Other rumoured features of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Moto X40 include up to 18 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage, a heavy duty 5,000mAh battery capacity couple with 68W fast charging. Moto X40 will be further equipped with a triple rear camera setup with a 50 megapixel (main) + 50 megapixel (ultra-wide) + 12 megapixel (telephoto) on the back. It will have a 60 megapixel selfie camera on the front also. Moreover, the latest Qualcomm flagship chip, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, provides up to 8K video capture capability along with playback. The smartphone, however, only supports up to 4K display.
