According to Gurman, internal data suggests that real-world usage of Apple Intelligence features is “extremely low,” indicating that current capabilities aren’t resonating with users. Unfortunately, iOS 19 won’t bring major consumer-facing AI updates, as Apple is still focused on delivering previously announced features. Gurman explains, “Everything I’ve heard suggests that iOS 19 will not include any significant consumer-facing changes to Apple Intelligence. A big reason for that is the amount of time Apple is still spending working to get the features announced last year out the door. It’s challenging to move on to next year’s release before this year’s operating system updates have rolled out to customers.” If Apple remains on this timeline, significant Apple Intelligence advancements may not arrive until iOS 20, expected in June 2027.
