According to Mark Gurman in a Bloomberg report, “That device will be the company’s thinnest phone yet and showcase why Apple spent billions of dollars to replace Qualcomm…By using its own modem, Apple is able to create a smartphone that’s about 2 millimetres thinner than an iPhone 16 Pro.” A 2mm reduction from the iPhone 16 Pro’s thickness would make the iPhone 17 Air approximately 6mm thick. This amounts to an overall thickness reduction of about 25%, which is slightly more for Pro models and slightly less for the base models.
