In a support post, Google confirmed that certain Pixel 7a devices are experiencing “unexpected battery swelling.” This follows similar battery-related issues in previous Pixel A series phones like the Pixel 4a, which saw battery life drop sharply after an update, and the Pixel 9a, which reportedly degrades after 200 charge cycles. If you’re affected, you may be eligible for: A one-time free battery replacement, or Compensation up to $456, depending on where you live and your device’s condition. Who Can Get It? The offer is available to Pixel 7a owners in the US, India, Canada, the UK, Germany, Japan and Singapore. In these countries, you can visit a walk-in repair centre or, in the US and India, send in your phone by mail, though it's subject to parts being in stock. If you live outside these supported regions (like in Australia or parts of the EEA), Google is offering alternative options: A $200 payment A $300 discount for the Google Store Or up to $456 in compensation for devices still under warranty (amounts are converted to local currency) If your phone has liquid damage, a cracked screen, or other physical damage, it might not qualify for the program.
