As of now, it’s not available to users on the free plan and only Gemini Advanced (paid) users can get the update. Veo 2 is the upgraded version of Google’s earlier Veo AI, and was first introduced in December 2024. It also powers YouTube’s Dream Screen feature and is available through Vertex AI, Google’s cloud-based AI platform. With Veo 2, Gemini Advanced users can generate 8-second-long videos just by typing a prompt in natural language.
