Ever since Realme unveiled its 240W fast charging tech, we have constantly been witnessing more and more companies come up with their own sets of fast charging technologies beyond the 200W mark. Infinix has now announced its own ultra-fast charging solution, which has made it the brand with the fastest charging smartphone tech till date, at least on paper. The brand has introduced its 260W wired and 110W wireless fast charging technology and has showcased the capabilities of the new charging tech as well. Infinix has announced its fastest charging technology rapid wired as well as wireless charging. The company has made a new record by unleashing ultra rapid 260W wired and 110W wireless charging. The company claims the technology can charge phones to their full capacity in under eight minutes on a wired connection, and 16 minutes through a wireless charger. “The charging architecture uses a 4-Pump Intelligent Circuit Design that intelligently identifies power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed to work,” Infinix said. “The upgraded 12C high rate 4400mAh battery a multi-electrode lug structure, which ensures a high charging conversion efficiency of up to 98.5%, while also increasing battery durability,”. Infinix 260W wired, 110W wireless Fast Charging Technology Details Infinix claims that the new fast charging technology is aimed at providing an all-round fast charge solution, hence the brand’s decision to come up with such ultra-fast wired, as well as wireless fast charging speeds. The new fast charging solution is claimed to fill a battery from 0 to 25 percent in just one minute (wired) and 0 to 100% in under 8 minutes. The cable can carry a current of up to 13A to make sure that the device receives the designated 260W charge. As for the 110W wireless charging, it is developed by using custom-made small-sensitive coils with different architectures. The brand has also announced a custom-made charger with a dual-coil design, which will charge both in vertical and in horizontal orientation. The charging station also has a fan for heat dissipation. This time, the smartphone brand has charted new territory with 260W wired and 110W wireless All Round FastCharge technology. The 260W charging tech builds on the 180W tech by upgrading from a dual 8C battery to a single 12C battery with a 4-pump circuit design that can intelligently identify power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed. Infinix claims the charging efficiency using the 260W charging tech is 98.5%, and the 4,400mAh battery it tested with retained 90% of its capacity after 1000 cycles. The company uses a charger that relies on a combination of GaN material and AHB circuit infrastructure with high power density. This allows for a small size, and safe charging controls. Infinix also uses a proprietary USB-C charging cable that can carry up to 13A of current to ensure 260W charging. As for the wireless charging technology, Infinix promises 110W wireless charging by using custom-made small, sensitive coils with different architectures. The technology uses fewer, but wider coils to reduce internal resistance, which keeps the phone temperature from rising when charging wirelessly. The 110W wireless charging uses a custom-made wireless charger featuring a dual-coil design for both vertical and horizontal charging. It also uses a fan at the base to keep things cool. The same technology also enables reverse charging, bypass charging, and multi-protocol charging. It is also compatible with other standards such as USB Power Delivery 3.0. While the charging tech is not commercially available as of now, Infinix has promised the 260W fast charging will be available in an upcoming Infinix Note device later this year. That means if Infinix's battery was the same size, the extra 20W is saving you 90 seconds of waiting time for that full top up. Xiaomi recently showed off 300W wired charging that it said can fully charge a smaller 4100mAh battery in four minutes and 54 seconds. It's all getting a bit crazy given it still takes me the best part of an hour to fully charge my Google Pixel 7 Pro at its 30W speed. It seems ridiculously slow in comparison, as are the latest iPhones. While many smartphones now come with very fast charging, Apple and Samsung are holdouts.
