Limits now silence incoming messages from all but the people on the user's close friends list. This restriction can be set by anyone who receives any type of unwanted message, remark, or abuse, just to reduce incoming noise without disappearing totally from their community. Other accounts can still interact with the user's posts, but that activity will be muted. Limits can be enabled for up to four weeks at a time and extended further as needed. Accounts that aren’t part of a person’s “Close Friends” group can still interact with them, but their activity won’t show up in the feed. Teens can limit interactions with recent followers — accounts that started following them in the past week or accounts that they don’t follow. In addition, the company is adding new functionality to its “Restrict” feature that lets you limit interactions from specific accounts without blocking them.
