Kirin 9020 Chipset Powering the Mate 70 Series As always Huawei shared limited details about the chipset during the launch of the Mate 70 Series. (Image credit - Weibo) Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Kirin 9010 is the new chipset featuring a 12-core CPU with two prime cores clocked at 2.5GHz, six mid-range cores at 2.1GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.6GHz. This design could involve hyperthreading, where a physical core can support two logical cores. For example, the Kirin 9010 had a 1+3+4 physical core setup but used hyperthreading to achieve a logical core design of 2+6+4. The Kirin 9020 is expected to use a similar technique.
