Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan has released on Amazon Prime Video today, the movie’s official streaming partner in India. This comes after the rather sudden confirmation from Prime Video yesterday that the blockbuster would stream on the platform starting today. Pathaan recently became the highest grossing Hindi film of all time. Where to watch Pathaan on OTT? YRF’s latest film Pathaan is streaming in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on Amazon Prime Video in India. Interestingly, the launch comes on a Wednesday, which is unusual given most major Bollywood movies premiere on OTT in India on a Friday. Just to note, Pathaan is available on Prime Video as part of your Amazon Prime subscription. There is no additional rent fees to be paid for it. It shows the story of this semi-retired spy who must come back in order to protect his homeland from foreign attacks. The protagonist, named Pathaan, must take on the leader of a deadly group of mercenaries as they plan to attack India. The movie is filled with high-octane action and superb acting performances. Pathaan Movie Budget The movie has been made at a budget of Rs.250 crore, which is a high budget film with top Bollywood actors for which Shah Rukh Khan has taken a huge remuneration of Rs.100 crore, while his co-star Deepika Padukone has taken Rs.15 crore and John Abraham has charged Rs.20 crore. Pathaan Story The movie’s story an exiled field operative from India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) who is assigned the dangerous task of taking down terrorist organization “Outfit X”, which is planning deadly terror attacks in India, in which he is aided by another officer, played by Deepika Padukone. Pathaan Shooting Location Keeping in with the movie’s plot, Pathaan has been shot extensively throughout multiple locations in India and abroad like Afghanistan, Russia, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, and UAE. Pathaan Controversy While Pathaan is one of the most awaited movies of the year, it doesn’t mean that it is free of controversy as one of its popular songs, Besharam Rang, has been massively criticized by right-wing Hindu groups for disrespecting the Saffron colour as the song shows Deepika dancing in an orange bikini, although the shot is just a few seconds. Many BJP politicians too called out Deepika Padukone and the makers for portraying Saffron in bad light, for which actress Swara Bhaskar too made her opinions public on the matter by stating that, “Politicians should focus on their work and not on actresses’ clothes”, and showed her support for the film.
