Ramesh bought the phone for ₹24,598 but discovered the user manual was missing, which made it difficult for him to access warranty details and the company’s address. Although OnePlus eventually sent him the manual in April, four months after the purchase, Ramesh decided to take the matter to the consumer disputes redressal commission in June, citing “deficiency in service.” In its November 29 order, the consumer forum criticized OnePlus India for its “sheer negligence and indifference,” according to the report. In October last year, Swedish retailer IKEA was fined ₹3,000 for charging ₹20 for a carry bag with its logo. In its ruling, the court ordered IKEA to refund the ₹20 with interest and pay ₹1,000 as compensation for harassment and ₹2,000 for court expenses.
