Infinix Hot 50 5G Review Infinix Hot 50 5G at first glance looks like a good under-10k 5G smartphone. However, if the price tag and key features don’t help you understand if this phone is good enough for the segment or not, our Infinix HOT 50 5G review definitely should. We are sharing below our experience after spending a considerable amount of time with the device and testing the phone for relevant standards. So, let’s start with the basics. We had the Sale Green version, which looks good. The back finish changes colour tone when held at different angles. This completely defines how the phone looks. At just 7.8mm, the brand is claiming it to be the slimmest 5G phone you will come across in this price range. Can’t say much about the claim, but we did notice the difference. The phone slips easily into your pocket and even after holding it for a while, it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. It feels comfortable in hand. The new “Wooow Cube” camera module at the back is unique. Whether you like it or not is subjective, we think it is definitely something different. However, we were only starting to like the camera module until we kept the phone on a desk and noticed how it wobbles way too much. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Plus, it’s P54 splash-proof, which adds a bit of peace of mind. Overall, design-wise the Hot 50 5G balances style and functionality well! It is perfect for this price point. Whether you’re binge-watching or scrolling through apps, the experience is smooth and vivid. While it could have been an immersive experience, the large bottom bezel of the phone hinders that. The phone does come with a 93.90% screen-to-body ratio if that helps. The phone gives you an option to switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates and has a 240Hz touch sampling rate. However, we did face touch response issues at times with this phone. Brightness-wise, it goes up to 500 nits. We tried to use the phone outdoors and it is easily viewable outdoors. However, you can’t expect this to perform smoothly under direct sunlight even though the brightness adjustment feature at times helps adapt to different lighting conditions. The dynamic bar at the top is also a good addition and surely another highlight you will feel when using the phone. It makes navigation just a bit smoother and more intuitive. The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor really makes it a good smartphone for basic everyday tasks. We tested the phone with some basic tasks and whether it was downloading large files, gaming, or having HD video calls, everything felt smoother than we expected. The phone handles basic functions fast without any hiccups. We also didn’t face any issues with multitasking or switching between apps. We put the phone through some tests and it faired well in almost all benchmarks. Moreover, this one comes with TUV SUD A-Level fluency certification. This means the phone will stay as fast as it is now for the next five years. How much this claim holds is a question for the future, but this is reassuring. Running on XOS 14, based on Android 14, the phone’s interface is super user-friendly. Infinix has added several additional features like AI Gallery, Video Assistant, and Eye Care. Overall, it’s a solid performer that feels reliable in everyday use! At least for the price you will get this phone for, we can say this is decent. It captures everyday moments while also allowing getting creative with photography. The Sony 48MP IMX582 AI Dual Camera captures images with clarity and detail. In the outdoors with good lighting, the results were sharp and vibrant. The low-light photos could have been better though. The camera visibly struggles when low light conditions. The AI Cam mode over-enhances photos sometimes. It does make some of the photos look incredibly artificial in some settings. There are creative modes like Dual Video, Film, Pro Mode and Super Night mode. The 8MP selfie camera is decent.
