As per Instagram’s Adam Mosseri, the two most sought-after enhancements are now available for all the users of Threads.

The ability to mute notifications for individual postings is a big upgrade from the previous all-or-nothing method.

This allows users to selectively hush those conversations that have gotten overwhelming or have lost relevance without turning off notifications completely.

The second new capability offers greater granularity over who can quote your content.

Now, users can choose to allow quoting from everybody, their followers only, or to switch the service completely off.

They can also manually unquote postings, giving them even more control of how their information is shared and talked about on the platform.

These changes, previously tested with a small set of users and greeted with generally positive feedback, have now gone live to the full community on Threads.

But Threads’ efforts to enhance the user experience don’t stop there.

The new online interface it has been testing bears a strong resemblance to TweetDeck—a widely used Twitter tool that allows browsing through several timelines and personalization of feeds simultaneously.

This new interface, featuring adjustable columns and real-time post changes, is purposed to give a more complete, fluid picture of what’s going on in the landscape of Threads.

While no official release date has been announced, adding such functionality will most probably cement the status of Threads as a robust contender in the world of social networking.

Threads is going all-out to make itself the number one microblogging platform on the planet, a title it has more-or-less snatched from X (formerly Twitter).
