Meta’s Threads is playing the revamping game on the front foot with new features being announced and teased almost every week. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the platform has managed to touch milestones like 300 million users and over 100 million daily active users. Innovation and understanding what those who actually use the platform need have been the key for folks at Threads. And they are in no mood to stop.
It appears Meta is adding another much-anticipated feature to its microblogging platform – the ability to schedule posts.
The announcement was made by the official Threads account, which confirmed that the feature is currently being tested with a small group of users and will be rolled out to everyone “soon.”

In a subsequent post, Threads’ official account noted that that feature is currently being tested on a small number of users. It wrote, “If you’re in the test, tap the three-dot menu on the composer to schedule a post for later. Choose the date and time you want the post to publish, then tap Schedule.
Your scheduled posts will appear in your drafts folder, along with a note indicating what time they’re scheduled to publish. If needed, you can edit or delete a scheduled post there.”

The scheduling option will allow Threads users to create a post and set it to go live at a later time or date. To access this feature, users will tap the three-dot menu in the post composer.
Scheduled posts will be saved in the drafts folder, labelled with the scheduled time. Users will also have the ability to edit or delete these posts before they are published.
Threads Rolling Out More Features
Meta has been working consistently and rolling out new features for Threads possibly in response to the growing popularity of competitors like Bluesky.
Some of the recent updates include:
- The ability to follow accounts from other users (though with some limitations).
- Watching videos in landscape mode.
- Setting a Custom Feed as the default view.
As of now, Meta has not announced a specific launch date for the scheduling feature. However, it is expected to reach every Threads user soon.
