With an aim to gain more market share in the premium segment and to give a strong fight to its competitor brand Samsung and OPPO, the Chinese smartphone brand Vivo is working to unveil a flip smartphone – Vivo X Flip – in the coming months.
However, ahead of that, a live image of the Vivo X Flip has been shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, which reveals the outer display of the upcoming flip smartphone.
Among the existing Flip foldables in the market, there’s the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 which was launched last year, and the OPPO Find N2 Flip which debuted last month. Let us look at the leaked live image and expected specifications of the Vivo X Flip.
Vivo is gearing up for a launch event in April 2023 to unveil new foldable smartphones, tablets, and more in China. The company would unveil Vivo X Fold 2, its first clamshell smartphone Vivo X Flip and Vivo Pad 2.
The live images of the Vivo Pad 2 and Vivo X Fold 2 were leaked recently, revealing the smartphone’s specifications. Even though Vivo confirmed that the products would be launching in April, the company is yet to announce the launch date of the smartphones in China. Ahead of the launch, popular tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the live image of the forthcoming clamshell X Flip smartphone.
Vivo X Flip live image leaked during a photoshoot
Similar to the earlier leaked renders, the leaked live image (via PLAYFULDROID) shows that the Vivo X Flip includes a circular camera module identical to those seen in other X series smartphones.
The camera module is placed in the top left corner of the phone in the unfolded stage. When folded, the cover display sits atop the camera module.
Meanwhile, it is likely confirmed that the device has the purple colour variant, as seen in the image.
Vivo X Flip specifications (expected)
The Vivo X Flip might come with a 6.8-inch FHD+ main display with a 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the secondary display will likely offer HD resolution. It is expected that the Vivo X Flip will sport a 50MP primary camera and 12MP ultrawide camera by Zeiss.
However, it is still unconfirmed. The upcoming Vivo X Flip is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. As per reports, the smartphone will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The phone may come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and will support 44W fast charging.
The company has not yet revealed the launch date, but it is said that the Vivo’s first clamshell-designed smartphone might be launched this month alongside the Vivo X Fold 2.

The image also reveals that the device will feature a circular camera module similar to the rest of the X series.
The camera module will be placed on the top left corner of the device in the unfolded stage.
The cover display is placed on top of the camera module when folded.
It might be uncomfortable for users to reach the screen with a single hand.

2) What does the live image of leaked Vivo X Flip Show ?
Ans) Live Image of Vivo X Flip Leaked
The picture comes from Digital Chat Station, who you might know for offering an early sneak peek.
Nonetheless, this time, the tipster sourced the live image of Vivo X Flip from a promo photoshoot. How can you tell?
Well, the picture showcases a flip phone that matches the X Flip render mockup we had earlier.
That said, the leaked image of the X Flip shows that the phone will feature a circular camera module and a large cover screen underneath.
So, in the folded state, the external display will be on the top of the camera module. Now, considering the placement, it may sound like that reaching the cover screen will be hard with one hand.
But Vivo might do some software trickery to make the experience with the X Flip’s cover screen better for the users. Even so, nothing is confirmed until Vivo launches the phone.
