Vivo X200 – Design and Build Quality
- Dimensions – 16.027 cm × 7.481 cm × 0.799 cm
- Weight – 202g (Natural Green variant)
- Materials Used – Glass Fibre, Aluminium Alloy
- IP68, IP69 Rated
Vivo X200 has a striking design philosophy that immediately gives premium flagship vibes when you take it out of the box.
We had the Natural Green colour unit for this review and it is a refreshingly unique colour for a smartphone. It colour tone also seems to be changing based on the kind of lighting around.
The phone is a combination of sleek, stylish and yet subtle design elements. The back of the phone has a smooth matte finish with small details such as the positioning of the flash or the Vivo branding that stand out.
The circular camera module also pops out with its metal ring and black glass finish.
Coming to build quality, the back and front are made up of glass fibre material while the middle frame is aluminium alloy. Now these may not be the strongest material out there but the phone feels robust in hand.
It seems to have a solid build that can survive wear and tear to a certain extent. X200 has also received IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means you get decent protection against water and dust.
The back of the phone is fingerprint resistant and while using we didn’t notice it catching any dust as well.
The design overall is quite similar to what we have seen in the predecessor Vivo X100 except for the finish and colour options. Vivo has decided to keep things simpler with X200 when it comes to the back panel finish. This somehow elevates the premium-ness of the phone.
Vivo X200 – Display
- 67-inch 2800 × 1260 (FHD+) 120 Hz AMOLED Display
- 4500-nits local peak brightness
- Schott Xensation α protection, DC-like dimming
- 460-PPI high pixel density, 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut
- HDR 10+ and Netflix HDR Support
Vivo X200’s display, at first glance, only adds to the overall look of the phone. However, it is not all show. Vivo has packed a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 (FHD+) and a pixel density of 460 PPI. The screen is sharp, vibrant and it is just the right size.
We felt everything looked crisp on this display, from the tiniest text to the most interesting game graphics. Colours really pop on this display, but they also don’t look overly saturated.
The screen’s 120Hz refresh rate is perfect for swiping through apps and playing fast-paced games. It feels incredibly fluid and just makes everything so much more responsive.
We also watched some HDR content on Netflix or scrolling through apps like Instagram, the visuals felt lifelike and rich without making it all artificial. HDR10+ support is also there, which means you get to see all the finer details in both bright and dark scenes.
To support outdoor use, it comes with a peak brightness of 4500 nits. We had no trouble using the phone outdoors even under direct sunlight, which is great. The clarity and brightness levels are some of the best we have seen on any phone this year. As for using it at night, Vivo X200 use DC-like dimming, which seems easier on the eyes compared to standard PWM dimming,
Vivo also added Schott Xensation α protection to give a little extra peace of mind against accidental drops.
Overall, the Vivo X200’s display is vibrant, smooth and makes visuals appear sharp for everything, starting from watching movies to casual scrolling.
Vivo X200 – Hardware and Performance
- Dimensity 9400 Flagship SoC Platform
- TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process technology
- Eighth-generation AI processor 890
- 60 TOPS ultra-high computing power
After spending some time with the Vivo X200, we can definitely say that it delivers the flagship-level performance.
There are no doubts that the Dimensity 9400 chipset is a powerhouse. We tried multiple tasks on the phone and didn’t notice any lags or even slowdowns.
Whether we tried gaming, streaming videos, editing videos or just swapping through multiple apps, the phone handled everything as we would expect from a flagship device.
It’s fast and efficient. Plus, we barely noticed any heat buildup even during heavy use.
We had the 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM unit for this and multitasking on it was a breeze. At one point, we had over 10 apps open in the background alongside an online editing tool.
If you are an average user like us, the 256GB storage is more than enough. It comes with UFS technology, which ensures apps and files load almost instantly.
Gaming was fun on Vivo X200 too. We tried graphic heavy games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty: Mobile at max settings. The phone maintained stable frame rates throughout the active sessions.
For 40 minutes of gameplay, the phone did heat up a bit but it was minimal.
We tested the phone on multiple benchmark platforms and it stood remarkably well. It scored 24,72,625 on AnTuTu v10.4.1, 2691 in single-core Geekbench and 8007 in multi-core Geekbench.
Below are some other benchmark results.

Vivo X200 – Camera Performance
We have to talk about the camera since it is one of the biggest selling points of this flagship machine.
Vivo X200 comes with a rear triple camera setup, which features 50MP Sony IMX921 (OIS) VCS, 50MP wide-angle and 50MP Sony IMX882 Telephoto (OIS) 3x Optical Zoom.
The camera module at the back panel houses the three lenses alongside the laser focus.
Compared to the predecessor Vivo X100, Vivo has replaced the 64 MP 100x Digital Zoom Telephoto lens with a 50 MP IMX882 OIS 3x optical zoom lens.
Rest, all lenses are co-engineered with Zeiss in this second-generation flagship as well.
10X Zoom
Performance-wise, the Vivo X200 camera stands out for its extraordinary image clarity and natural colour reproduction. The photos come out sharp even from a long distance thanks to the 3x Optical Zoom. The camera setup has advanced image reconstruction technology that helps bring details closer and ensures high-quality imaging from a distance.
The macro background bokeh works superbly well. It enhances the image highlighting the details and depth. You can actually capture moving subjects without disturbing them from a distance and rely on Vivo X200 to give an incredibly clear and sharp image of the object with bokeh.
We also found that the rear camera is well-equipped to handle low lighting conditions. It hardly misses giving clear and sharp images capturing even minute details from the scene in front.
The camera system on the Vivo X200 is also very versatile and provides a number of different modes to explore. To name a few modes, it has Snapshot, Portrait, Photo, Video, High Resolution, Pano, Ultra HD Document, Slo-mo, Long Exposure, Time-Lapse, Supermoon, Astro, Landscape Mode, Pro, Live Photo, Portrait Video, Night, Super Macro and ZEISS Multifocal Portrait.
Here are some camera samples exploring different modes –

Vivo X200 – Night Camera Sample
Coming to video shooting capabilities, the front camera supports 4K, 1080p, 720p and 30 fps, 60 fps shoot modes. The video quality is great. The phone captures sharp and clear videos ensuring everyday detail of the scene is captured as intended. The stabilisation is also good. You can rely on this phone to shoot proper scenes while moving.
The zoom feature in video recording works extremely well as can be seen in the below videos we tried to capture moving subjects from a distance and the quality is unquestionably fine. Even at night time, the video at 1080p and 60fps was clear. There isn’t any noticeable noise or grain in the video when 10x zoomed in.

Vivo X200 – Battery Life and Charging
- 5800mAh battery (one of the largest in its segment)
- 90W FlashCharge
- Li-ion battery with 3rd-Gen Siicon anode and semi-solid state technology
The Vivo X200 packs a massive 5800mAh capacity, which as we used the phone easily lasted through a full day of moderate to heavy use. We tried gaming, streaming and lots of multitasking and ended the day with some juice still left for the next morning.
Charging is just also impressive. When we tested the 90W FlashCharge, it got us from under 10% to about 80% in under 20-25 minutes. We felt it was perfect for those quick top-ups when in a rush.
Vivo has used third-gen silicon anode and semi-solid-state technology here. As per claim, it makes the battery more efficient and durable.
Overall, we felt Vivo X200 has the perfect battery capacity and charging specs to support the flagship performance.
Verdict – Should You Buy Vivo X200?
Similar to the first-generation phone, the Vivo X200 is mainly a camera phone. It is a smartphone that you must consider buying if you are interested in exploring your photography skills. The camera setup is versatile and can support every photography possibility. There’s 4k video recording on both front and back cameras, so creators can actually have a field day.
Even other than the camera, the Vivo X200 rarely disappoints. It is a perfect package with powerful processing power, a good battery battery with flashcharge tech, a nice AMOLED display and a sleek design.
So, we would say if you are looking for a good capable camera phone that is powerful for other tasks as well, the Vivo X200 is what you need to look at.
