Apple is reportedly dropping iOS 17 support for these iPhones (iPhone X, First-Generation iPad Pro, and More): Check list of eligible & ineligible devices

Apple might release the upcoming iOS 17 during the WWDC 2023.

Some older generation iPad models are also tipped to be dropped from the iPadOS 17 compatible devices list.

Blame it on an unpatchable vulnerability Joe Rossignol, MacRumors:

iPhones and iPads equipped with the A5 through A11 chip are affected by a bootrom security vulnerability that Apple cannot patch on these devices, as the bootrom operates in a read-only state.

According to a new report by Mac Rumours, Apple might provide the latest iOS 17 update to two generations of iPhones which received the iOS 16 update.
