Motorola Edge 40 review in 10 points

The Motorola Edge 40 has a vegan leather back which feels premium, improves grip and doesn't get smudged. Moreover, it is just 7.6mm thick and weighs 171 grams which is undoubtedly lightweight for a phone of this size. To top it off, the device also comes with IP68 rating.

The Motorola Edge 40 features a 6.5-inch curved pOLED screen with FHD+ resolution. It is an 8-bit panel with 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10 support. The screen has a peak brightness of 1200 nits which is more than enough for outdoor usage.

The dual camera setup at the rear on the Motorola Edge 40 consists of a 50MP primary camera paired with 13MP ultrawide camera. The primary camera captures plenty of details with a wide dynamic range. Also, the autofocus capabilities are commendable. The ultrawide sensor captures 120-degree FOV and the images turn out very good.

At the front, the Motorola Edge 40 houses a 32MP sensor. While the camera has a good dynamic range, it oversharpens the facial features.

The Motorola Edge 40 has the MediaTek Dimensity 8020 SoC at its core. You can easily run GPU intensive games but the device will get a little warm. It has high benchmark scores, but the device throttles due to its thin design. However, you won't face any issues in day to day usage. <br>

The Motorola Edge 40 runs on MyUX based on Android 13. It comes with a very useful set of features while being very close to stock Android. And, it doesn't have any bloatware either.

Even though the Motorola Edge 40 is very slim, it features a 4,400mAh battery. It provides a screen on time of 5 hours or more depending on your usage.

The Motorola Edge 40 comes with a 68W charger in the box which can charge the device from 0 to 100% within an hour. It also supports 15W wireless charging which is not seen in many devices in this price range.

The Motorola Edge 40 features a great design, display, software and even hardware. There's not a lot to complain about this device except for the heating. However, there's no device in its price segment that offers IP68, wireless charging, etc. If you can look past its shortcomings, it is a compelling offering under Rs 30,000.
