The series is a follow up to Hansal Mehta's 2020 hit Scam 1992. Scam 2003 will stream exclusively on SonyLIV.

Telgi was a counterfeiter who printed fake stamp paper. The scam, spread across multiple states, left the whole country in shock. The web series has been adapted from the Reporter ki Diary, authored by journalist Sanjay Singh.
