According to reliable WhatsApp source WABetaInfo, this will allow users to personalise their chats like never before.
WABetaInfo also shared some screenshots in its report that reveal the look of the new “Chat Theme” settings page.
It also allows WhatsApp users to adjust both the chat’s colour and background wallpaper.
Moreover, users can also apply a default theme that will be visible across all conversations apart from using the option to have custom-specific themes for individual chats.
The report suggests WhatsApp will automatically select a complementary chat colour for each theme.
However, users can always manually tweak the colours to suit their personal preferences.
An important thing to note about this new feature is that these customizations will be private—only the user applying the theme will see the changes.
The recipient of the chats will see no difference in chat appearance.
