HMD has quietly launched its affordable Android 14 Go Edition smartphone named HMD Aura². Multiple reports have claimed that it appears to be an updated version of the previously launched HMD Arc but with a massive storage upgrade of 256GB. The phone will reportedly be available in Australia from March 13 and priced at AUD 169 (about $106 or INR 9,207).

HMD Aura² – Key Features

The HMD Aura² features a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a 1280×576 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 460 nits peak brightness. It has a waterdrop notch that houses a 5MP selfie camera. On the back, there’s a 13MP main sensor as part of a dual-camera setup.

For security, the phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock.

It also comes with a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM radio. The device has an IP54 rating for durability. Powering the phone is a 5000mAh battery with 10W charging. It runs on Android 14 Go Edition and is promised to receive two years of quarterly security updates.

Last but not least, it comes with HMD’s trademark Repair-it-yourself functionality that allows users to easily replace parts like a broken screen at home if required.
