OnePlus has started teasing the launch of a new tablet in India. While the company has not officially revealed detailed specifications, the teaser image provides strong clues about what to expect. The silhouette suggests a high-end tablet and it will likely to succeed last year’s OnePlus Pad 3. Here’s more on that.
OnePlus India’s official social media pages have shared a new teaser showing glimpses of an upcoming OnePlus tablet. The teaser tagine says “Exceptional Power Coming Soon” and the post reads “you’re not ready for this.”
A closer look at the teaser reveals a camera module design and three-pin connector placement that closely resemble the upcoming OPPO Pad 5 Pro. This has sparked speculation that OnePlus could once again adopt its strategy of rebranding an OPPO tablet for global markets.
If true, the upcoming OnePlus tablet may essentially be a tweaked version of the OPPO Pad 5 Pro, customised for Indian users OPPO is yet to officially launch the Pad 5 Pro in China with its debut scheduled for April 21. The device is expected to be unveiled alongside other flagship products making it a top-tier tablet in OPPO’s lineup.
Notably, the official teaser says nothing about the name of the device. Some reports have claim that the company might skip the number “4” in moniker due to cultural preferences in China. This would mean there is possibility of the device being launched as the OnePlus Pad 5 instead.
Since multiple reports have hinted that it could be rebranded version of OPPO Pad 5 Pro, we can expect some familiarity in the features.
The teased OnePlus tablet could feature a 13.2-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels and be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This will position it firmly in the flagship category with strong performance capabilities.
