The much-anticipated Oppo A5i Pro 5G has officially launched in Malaysia. The phone was previously spotted on the country’s SIRIM certification website. The handset shares a similar design language with the Oppo A5i Pro 4G, which was introduced earlier in June this year. Here’s everything you need to know about this phone.
The Oppo A5i Pro 5G is available in two colour finishes, which are Breeze Blue and Midnight Purple.
While the global website lists both 4GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants, Malaysia has received only the 8GB+256GB model, priced at RM 799 (around $188.87 USD).

The smartphone comes with a 6.67-inch LCD HD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It offers 88% DCI-P3 coverage in vivid mode and 100% sRGB in natural mode, with up to 1000 nits peak brightness in HBM. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
For durability, the device is rated IP65 for water and dust resistance and is also MIL-STD-810H certified, ensuring protection against drops and impacts.
Powering the phone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC with an octa-core CPU and ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable via microSD card). It runs on ColorOS 15.0.1 based on Android 15.
In the camera department, the Oppo A5i Pro 5G features a dual rear setup with a 50MP f/1.8 wide-angle sensor and a 2MP monochrome lens. For selfies, there is an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. The device supports multiple shooting modes such as Night, Portrait, PRO, Panorama, and Dual-view video, with video recording capabilities of up to 1080p at 60fps (rear) and 1080p at 30fps (front).
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery with 45W SUPERVOOC fast charging. For security, it includes both a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition, along with essential sensors like proximity, ambient light, and accelerometer.
Connectivity options include 5G support across multiple bands, 4G LTE, dual-SIM compatibility, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 (with SBC, AAC, LDAC, aptX, and aptX HD codecs), USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and NFC. Location services are covered by GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS, with A-GPS and WLAN positioning.
The device weighs 194g and has a slim profile of 7.99mm.
