He writes, “Every generation redefines its relationship with smartphones, with each wave of innovation making them objectively better than the last one. The conversation is now shifting from what a smartphone can do to how seamlessly it integrates into a consumer’s lifestyle. This shift is becoming increasingly visible among young consumers and as a brand it is imperative for us to understand these evolving consumer needs and preferences.”

Danish further explained that smartphones have become an essential tool for creativity and self-expression among younger users. “For them, a smartphone is a tool where ideas are created, stories are shared, and individuality is expressed. It moves effortlessly between work, creativity and entertainment, becoming one of the few pieces of technology that remains constantly present in everyday life. At vivo, we believe this evolution should be reflected not only in the products we build, but also in the way we think about our portfolio… That thinking has led to the introduction of the S Series, and the upcoming vivo S2 is the expression of this philosophy,” he added.

Vivo S2 – What to Expect?

Official teaser images reveal that the Vivo S2 will feature a slim design, a curved AMOLED display, a ring light integrated into the rear camera module, and premium-looking colour options. Vivo is expected to reveal more hardware details in the days leading up to the August 6 launch event.

Previous leaks suggest the smartphone could arrive in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White colour options. It is expected to be available in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB storage variants with a leaked price range of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000.

In terms of specifications, the Vivo S2 is tipped to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo chipset. The phone is also expected to pack a 7,050mAh battery with 44W FlashCharge support. Other rumoured features include IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, reverse wired charging, and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

Camera details remain unclear since different reports suggesting either a 50-megapixel primary camera paired with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor or a 50-megapixel main camera accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

Vivo S2 FE Tipped to Replace the Pro Model

Alongside the Vivo S2, a fresh leak indicates that Vivo may be changing its plans for the S-series lineup. According to tipster PassionateGeekz @passionategkeez on X, the company has reportedly dropped plans to launch a Vivo S2 Pro and is instead working on a Vivo S2 FE.

Although Vivo has not officially confirmed the FE model or shared its launch timeline, the move would align with the growing industry trend of introducing Fan Edition (FE) smartphones that offer flagship-inspired features at a more affordable price. Vivo already follows this strategy in its flagship lineup and it could now extend the same approach to the S-series.

If the leaks are accurate, the Vivo S2 will compete in the premium mid-range segment, while the rumoured Vivo S2 FE could serve as a more affordable alternative. However, its pricing, specifications, and launch schedule remain unknown for now.

More details are expected to emerge after the official debut of the Vivo S2 on August 6.

Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Receive EEC Certification, Global Launch Could Be Getting Closer

0
Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Receive

Highlights

  • Xiaomi 18 and 18 Pro Max have received EEC certification on July 29, 2026.
  • Leaks suggest India launch could happen as early as December 2026 with lineup including Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
  • Expected specs include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, Leica-branded dual 200MP cameras, and a 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging on the Pro model.

Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup appears to be moving a step closer to launch. Two devices believed to be part of the Xiaomi 18 series have now received certification from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), hinting that the company could soon introduce its next-generation premium smartphones in global markets. Here are more details.

Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Spotted on EEC Database

According to the latest certification listing details shared by tipster Anvin @ZionsAnvin on X, the EEC has approved two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones on July 29, 2026. The certified models include –

Model number 2609BPN61G – Xiaomi 18 Pro Max

Model number 2611FPNFAG – Xiaomi 18

Although the EEC certification does not reveal any hardware specifications, it indicates that Xiaomi is preparing these devices for launch in multiple international markets. The tipster, however, notes that smartphone monikers are tentative and Xiaomi may change the final Xiaomi 18 lineup model names.

Xiaomi 18 Series – Expected Launch Timeline

Previous leaks suggest Xiaomi may unveil the Xiaomi 18 series earlier than its usual flagship launch schedule. According to Smartprix citing tipster Yogesh Brar, the company is expected to launch the Xiaomi 18 lineup in India as early as December 2026. If this information turns out to be accurate, the phones would arrive around two months earlier than Xiaomi’s traditional launch timeline.

For comparison, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in China in September 2025. The standard Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra were later launched in India in March this year.

The leaks also point to a major change in Xiaomi’s flagship portfolio. Instead of offering an Ultra model, the upcoming lineup is tipped to include three smartphones. These could be Xiaomi 18, Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. If true, this would mark the first time Xiaomi replaces its Ultra branding with a Pro Max variant.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to be the top-end model in the series and is reportedly planned for a limited release in India.

Xiaomi 18 Series – Expected Specifications

Earlier reports indicate that the Xiaomi 18 series could debut in China in September 2026, around the time of the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit. The smartphones are also expected to be among the first devices powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.

The upcoming flagship phones are also rumoured to feature Leica-branded cameras. Both the Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro are tipped to come with dual 200-megapixel camera sensors.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 18 Pro is said to pack a 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging as well as wireless charging.

While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details about the Xiaomi 18 series yet, the latest EEC certification suggests that the launch could be drawing closer. More information about the smartphones is expected to surface in the coming weeks.
